I love the idea of the baby-doll look with a tan for summer, but the reality is I feel like Hattie Jacques in it. It may stretch your budget, but invest in a tailored, mid-price label. If you look for a suit that has a trouser and a skirt version, you can make it last the week. You could also try a department store, such as Selfridges, which carries a large selection of labels- you may find that Italian tailoring suits your shape more. Keep the colour netural: avoid checks, tweeds and pinstripes. Once you have your suit, work on the details. Interchange a shirt and knitwear, and shoes and boots with different hosiery - try black opaque, sheer or a delicate pattern. Invest in scarves and brooches. Work colleagues will think you have a different outfit on each day.
