Exposing 19 Deceit
Subject: How true is the claim that verse 15/87 give us the time of The Judgement Day?
Peace to all of you
As much as it is know to me, no critic of RK did not make serious critic of his interpretation of 15/87 which led him to propheciese the time of the Day of the Judgement, although quranic verdict on the topic is that the time of The Day is known only to God.
"Wa laqad atajnaaka saban min el mesani wa quran el azeeem"15/87 "And indeed we have gave to you seven of "masani" and the Grand Reading"15/87
RK-s understanding(similar to traditional understanding) was that "saban minel masani" and "quranel azim" must be two different things(because they are separated with conjuction waw). Accordingly, he took that "saban min el masani" means seven pairs and then related it to14 different letters on the begging of 29 quranic chapters . Then, he calculated its gematrical value(1709) and come with interpretation that this means that World will survive for 1709 years from revelation of this verse till the Day of the judgement (that is till 1710 After Hijrah, that is 2280.), cause two verse before God has said that "The Hour is coming." So practically he predicted and propheciesed the time of the Hour, inspite the fact that quran clearly, boldly and repeatedly states that its time is known only to God and that the Hour will come unexpectedly. (btw-How he knew that this verse is revealed in the year of hijrah? From hadiths I suppose.)
First let us see how quran clearly speak about time of the hour:
"They ask you about the hour, when will be its taking place? Say: The knowledge of it is only with my Lord; none but He shall manifest it at its time; it will be momentous in the heavens and the earth; it will not come on you but of a sudden. They ask you as if you were solicitous about it. Say: Its knowledge is only with Allah, but most people do not know." 7/187
79/42 They ask you about the Hour, -when it will take place? 79/43 Why should you mention it? (And What you have to say about it?) 79/44 It lies up to your Lord to set it. 79/45 You are only a warner to him who would fear it.
So it is obvious that nobody knows about it and that function of messenger is only to warn about it and not to give its precise time. Now, read the verses 15/85-88 that are misinterpreted and abused by RK and you`ll see that his method is more ludicrous than sunni/shia pulling the verses out of context and citing it out of blue:
15/85 And We did not create the heavens and the earth and what is between them two but in truth; and the hour is most surely coming, so turn away with kindly forgiveness. 15/86 Surely your Lord is the Creator of all things, the Knowing. 15/87 And certainly We have given you seven of the repeating (verses) and the grand Quran. 15/88 Do not strain your eyes after what We have given certain classes of them to enjoy, and do not grieve for them, and make yourself gentle to the believers.
Does God run out of the words? Does he mentioned any time period till the J -day here ? Initials? Do you see any order or suggestion for calculating gematrical value of initials in order to determine J-Day time? If you are able to tense and concentrate strong enough, and if you are willing to fly on the wings of the imagination, maybe you`ll see just a weak allusion of/on/to it, what was in fact the perfect trial(74/31 and 3/7) for introduction a concept of calculating the J day time -a thing that is **known only to God**- what is boldly, clearly and repeatedly, again and again, stated throughout Quran. Is it then reasonable that God sends a messenger(rk) to abrogate those verses(and there is no more of the Books after Quran??!!) ?
God says that when a messanger comes, that he recite the verses to the people: 7/35 O children of Adam, when messengers come to you from among you, reciting My revelations/verses/ajaats to you, those who take heed and lead a righteous life, will have nothing to fear, nor will they grieve. Why, then, if he was a messenger, why he did not bring and recite any verses from God? And instead of it he bring the calculations which abrogated the verses of the Quran -the last book sent from God to mankind?? Some says that a new-coming mesenger do not have to bring new verses but he simply recite the old verses, from an existing scripture. This logic is imo wrong but i do not intend to go too deep in prooving it it here. Let us imagine for a moment that it holds the water. Why, then, if he was messenger, he(rk) did not recite the following verses(79/42-45 and 7/187, 33/63, 43/85 and many more that clearly claim that nobody know the hour`s time and that the knowledge of it is with God and that duty of messenger is only to warn) and instead of it ,he abrogate those verses??!! So we have a very sunni situation here, the verses of the book are abrogated with the something out of the Book, the word of God is abrogated by sayings of the man, by hadith of the man??!!
His interepretation of the verse(15/87) is imo clear/classical example of transgressing of the borders of interpretation of Quran which are set by Quran itself. Every student of Quran, (or at least those who rejected hadith and sunna after studying quran) know that Quran is self-explanatory book, that is, verses of Quran are to be understood and studied in the light of the other quranic verses. Only by using this method it is possible to attain appropriate meaning of the verses. One can not understand it properly without relating it to other verses that deals with the particular quranic topic. If we take only one verse and study it in isolation, beating it to the death, then, there is a great danger of falling in a trap of seeing only one-dimensional, or at the best case, two dimensional picture. Acting like this we will fail to see three-dimensional picture of God`s verdict on the topic. And this is the way how sectes are created, justified and defended. You take a verse in isolation, without looking on the all verses that deal with the topic and without looking to general quranic principles and you beat the verse to the death and extricate from it a meaning that suits to your desire, interest and views of your sects. The famous and well known example of such a behaviour is the sunni/shia justification of sunna and hadith by citing the verses where God tell us that he revealed Al-Kitab(The Boook) and Al -Hikmah(The Wisdom). This is so called "Wau-atfa sindrom". Since the terms "The Book" and "The Wisdom" are separated with the conjunction Waw(u)/and, they assumme that they must be two distinct separate entities. (That is Al Kitab is Quran, and Al Hikmah is Hadith of the prophet.) Looking from the linguistic point of the view their interpretation is quite reasonable and one of the possible interpretations, but what is wrong with it is that , by doing so, they neglected(kufr) numerous quranic verses that clearly tell us that the only revelation given to Muhhamad was Quran and nothing but Quran. So the verses that they abused do not speak about two completely separate entities, nor about two completelly different things, but rather about two different aspects of the one same thing -Quran. Those two aspects of Quran are the Book and The Wisdom. Quran is a book, and, in the same time, Quran is a wisdom . Shortly said Quran is a book that teach us a perfect wisdom. Now back to the 15/87. Having in mind numerous quranic verses that tell us that the only revelation given to Muhamed is The Book-Quran and nothing but it, I understand that both terms mentioned in 15/87, "saban minel masani"/seven repeating verses and "quranel azim"/grand reading, are two different aspects of the same thing -God`s Book, rather than a two distinct and completely separate entities. 1. First aspect is "saban minel masani" meaning seven or "a plenty/a lot" of repeating (verses, sayings, admonitions) 2. The second aspect of God`s Book is Al-Quran, meaning: Recital, Reading, the text that is to be read/recited.
There is a disagreement about "linguistical"/ litteral meaning of the phrase "saban minel masani". The traditional interpretation is that it means "seven repeating(verses)and that it reffers to first surah - Al-Fatihah(The Opener) that contains seven verses and that is(traditionally) to be recited in every salat-contact "prayer". I think that their translation(seven repeating verses) is correct but their interpretation is not. Imo they (being confused with tradition and hadiths) fail to see that "seven" here is not meant literally. every language in the world as well as arabic language has its idioms. Throughout quran, imo, **seven is used as an idiom** to describe a lot of something or a big number of something, or sometimes a big, indefinite number of something. I`ll cite some of the examples and you can continue your research for yourself. "And Hell awaits them all. It will have *seven* gates. Each gate will get a specific share of them." 15/43-44 "And if all the trees on earth were pens and the ocean (were ink), with seven oceans behind it to add to its (supply), yet would not the words of Allah be exhausted (in the writing): for Allah is Exalted in Power, full of Wisdom." 31/27 "The *seven* heavens declare His glory and the earth (too), and those who are in them; and there is not a single thing but glorifies Him with His praise, but you do not understand their glorification; surely He is Forbearing, Forgiving." 17/44 "Allah is He Who created *seven* heavens, and of the earth the like of them (or "the same number of earths"); the decree continues to descend among them, that you may know that Allah has power over all things and that Allah indeed encompasses all things in (His) knowledge." 65/12
So having in mind this verse: "... Be not in haste with the Qur'an before its revelation to you is completed, and(but) say, "O my Lord! increase me in knowledge." 20/114
I translate 15/87 as follows: "And We indeed already gave to you a lot(seven) of repeating(verses, admonitions, sayings, teachings) and The great Reading" 15/87
And this is imo in a perfect harmony with: 39.23 "Allah has revealed The most beautiful Saying, a book consistent with itself (similar), *repeating(masanije)*, the skins of those who fear their Lord tremble thereat; then their skins and their hearts do soften to the celebration of Allah's praises. Such is the guidance of Allah: He guides therewith whom He pleases, but such as Allah leaves to stray, can have none to guide."
Please notice how the word "masanije" (the same word/root that is mentioned in 15/87) is used for desribing the book -Quran, and tell us that its teaching are repeating, that is , they are mentioned/repeated again and again on the different places of it sometimes in the same, word for word form , and sometime in slightly different but similar form. So we can conclude that the phrase"seban minel mesanii" in 15/87 is also a description of The Book as a whole, and not only a part of it (7 pairs of initials or 7 repeating verses of fatihah). Please notice how the verses throw the light to each other. Also notice how is the term mesanije(repeating) in 39/23 used in apposition of the word mutashabihat(similar), possibly as a claryfier of its meaning- similarity. The quranic wisdoms/verses are repeated again and again in similar way/form with only slighlty different wording.
And now look how RK method was far from this perfect quranic methodology . He took that "saban min el masani" means seven pairs and then related it to 14 letters on the begging of the 29 chapters . Then he calculated its gematrical value 1709 and come with interpretation that this means that World will survive for 1709 years from revelation of this verse till the Day of the judgement (1710. After Hijrah) What an acrobatics!!! First is to be said that even if there is possibility to translate "saban min el mesani" as seven pairs there is no logic that it could reffer to 14 different "quranic initials" mentioned on the begining of the 29 chapters. Those 14 letters can not be reffered as 7 pairs by no stretch of logic and imagination. Those forteen letters are no pairs at all. Alif (one of the letters)for example has no its pair, letter Qaf(surah 57) has no its ortographic pair. The same case is with letter Kaf(Surah 19), and letters Ta and ha(surah 20). Nor the letter Meem has its pair. Etc etc, it seems that none of these letters has no its pair, and yet they are interpreted as seven pairs and related as alegorical meaning of 1709 years from revelation of the Quran till the judgement day, and finally used as abrogation of the quranic verdict on the time of the day of the Judgement - that is, that nobody knows its time except God. I have no any hostility/anyhing against possibility that "saban minel mesani" means "seven pairs" or "a lot of pairs"(double meaning verses) but again it could reffer only to the Book as a whole , and not only to the part of it. Then, it could carry meaning that quranic verses deals with the two aspects of the hereafter(heaven and hell), or to two aspects of this earthly life (spiritual and physical), or that quran deals with this earthly life as well as with hereafter(as translated by khalifa and piktchall in 39/23) or Quran describes two different ways of life- bad way as well a s good way of life or God leads people to two differents roads with quran, he mislead somebody with quran, and guides other with the same book. etc. etc. etc But i repeat it reffers to the book and its verses/admonitions/revelations as a whole, and not to the part of it. Imo there is no much harm in understanding that sven repeating verses reffer to Al-fatihah(The opener), but to interpret it as a 1709 years till the Judgement day is a blasphemy and the following of the assumption. This reminds me very much of the sectarian shia`s interpetation of 12 months mentioned in 9/36 as 12 (twelve) shia`s sinless imams(leaders) that will come after Muhamed`s death and whose teaching is to be followed together/along with the Book of God.
That`s my current understanding, but God knows the best, and i have to analyse quran more and to check the meaning of "seban minel mesani " and may He increase my knowledge and may he make me die as a Submitter to Him.
It is very important to notice that the method that RK used in his interpretation of the Quran is the *very same sectarian method* that is applied by sunni/shia and every other sectarian people. He would find some weak allusion(or some thin/weak/light indications) in some verses or even in a part of some verses and then he would develope the whole theory upon it, ussualy supoporting it with the numbers, whenever it is possible in a peculiar way that it may appear interesting and miraculous, in order to provide the authority for his interpretation. And ussually translating it a bit differently from the arabic original, what sometimes drasticaly changes the meaning of the verses. While reading appendices of his translation I experienced the same feeling as i have experienced in the past while reading Bukhari`s collection of hadiths. I have got the feeling that Bukhari, or whoever write his hadiths collection, have read Quran very very carefully seeking for the "holes" or for the "weak places", where he could be able to built his hadith`s story/theory upon. And in accordance with Godīs claim that He leads whomever He wills with Quran, and guides whomever He wills, God, deliberately provided some "holes" in Quran for the people who want to play with God and who want to avoid the plain quranic thruts, for the people who want to twist the meaning of the Quran. It is very amazing thing for me , that almost all, if not all, topics in the Quran have its "weak/ambiguous? verses". The verses that could be interpretated in discordance with the other plain , clear, unambiguous and throughout quran many times repeated verses. Imo RK looked for such a verses and built his theory upon it, God deliberately make it possible for him and imo even made it easy for him, in accordance with the Quranic/God`s princip that everybody gets "what he wants" , that is, what his soul is inclined to.
Mr. RK in appendix 25 of his translation wrote: ** It Will Not Remain Hidden [20:15] Verse 15 of Sura 20 informs us that the end of the world will be revealed by God before the end of the world, **
Here I have a very important objection to conclusion that he deduced from the verse. God didnt said in the verse that: "the end of the world will be revealed by God BEFORE the end of the world" , as rk claimed. This is a understanding of rk that is not correct cause no other verse of quran support such understanding of 20 /15. The time of the J- day is the thing that is **known only to God**- and that fact is boldly, clearly and repeatedly, again and again, stated throughout Quran. The only verse that gives some allusions that it could be different, is this verse(20/15), upon which he built his whole theory. And he sacrified the plain truth stated boldly and repeatedly throughout quran for the sake of an allusion that he saw in one single verse, that is 20/15. Moreover, allusion that he saw appers only in a part of the verse, and not in a whole verse. He did not cite the wole verse above and he pull out the words out of the context. He did not pay attention to whome the words from the verse were directed!!! The litteral, word for word, translation of 20/15 is as follows: "Indeed, The Hour is coming, I almost keep it hidden, to reward every soul for her efforts."
The words are directed to Moses and have nothing to do with God`s announcing the time of the Hour through calculation of RK. The verse is the only verse on topic the leaves the room for a more than one interprtetation. All of the other verses on the topic, plainly and boldly, without smallest ambiguity, claim and leave no doubt that nobody except God knows the time of the Hour. And it is our duty to interprete "the multiple meaning verses" in accordance and harmony with other, more clear and straightforward verses. Or not to interpret them in the discordance with the straightforward verses that have no ambiguity. I think this is a position that every sincere student of quran would accept: wherever we have a multiple meaning verse, that is, ambiguous verse, we should return it to the starightforward and decisive verse and interpret it in accordance with it. What rk has done, is excactly the opposite. He preffered the following the ambiguity over the straight solution. Let us conteplate for a while on the verse, and GW you will be able to see a terrible distortion that rk commited neglecting the principles of the understanding the Quran given by quran itself.
1.First, it is to be said that the words are directed to Moses, long time ago, long time before quranic decree that the Hour will come unexpectedly and that no human being knows when it will happen, and what are its "signs". In the other words, before the revelation of the quran, maybe it WAS possible that the people expected some of the signs for the hour and accordingly they were assured that the hour will not come yet , cause there have been existed the prophecies about new -coming messengers or about coming of the new books from God, for example, about coming of the Quran through gentile prophet mesenger (as cited in quran) So it is natural that they might expected Quran or the last prophet as a sign of the hour. In short, if the verse talk about showing some signs of the hour before its beggining, then, it only could reffers to the time BEFORE revelation of the Quran and its verses that claim that nobody know the time of the hour and that it will come unexpectedly to us. 2.Second and ,imo, more soundful meaning/interpretation is that God`s words directed to Moses: "I almost keep it hidden", mean that nobody knows anything about the time of the hour, except, that it will surelly going to happen one day. This is in harmony with the rest of the words in the verse "to reward ever soul for her efforts" ,
"Indeed, The Hour is coming, I almost keep it hidden, to reward ever soul for her efforts."20/15
that is, the last words in the verse are explanation of the reason why the hour is almost kept hidden -in order that God may reward every soul for its efforts, that is , if the people do not know when it will happen they will be frighteneed of its coming and they will be highly motivated to do some good deeds before it comes. Many time in quran God use this methodology for motivating the people to believe and to ask for forgiveness and for motivating to repentance and immediate following of the Straight Path.
Please, do not hang on my neck for every word of this explanation. It is just some of my contemplations, but i think that they give enough reasons to see that there is a more than one way to understand 20/15 and that for correct understanding of the topic we should look to less ambiguous and straightforward verses of quran on topic, which again and again, repeatedly, boldly and clearly throughout quran claim that the knowledge of the Hour is with God, and that nobody knows anything about it, and that it will come unexpectedly , that is, without any predictions- contrary to what is recorded in hadith(attributed to muhamad) as well as what is recorded in neohadit(rk writings)
RK continues his famous tafseer(explanation) as follows: ** and Sura 15 , Verse 87, gives the time for that event: "We have given you the seven pairs, and the great Quran." [ 15:87 ] The seven pairs are the 14 Quranic Initials. The total gematrical value of these profound pillars of the Quran's miracle pinpoints the year of the end of the world. ** Wau! This is really incredible! I repeat, Is this any better than sectarian shia`s interpetation of 12 months mentioned in 9/36 as 12 (twelve) shia`s sinless imams(leaders) that will come after Muhamed`s death and whose teaching is to be followed together/along with the Book of God??!! I repeat, Is this any better interpretation ??!! Did he use any other verse to explain and establish the meaning of the verse ?? Why?? Isnt Quran a self-explanatory book??
Knowing that God stated in Quran that The hour will come unexpectedly he(rk) was forced to further distortion, that is, to claim that it will come unexpectedly only to /for disbelievers.
RK wrote: ** For the disbelievers who do not accept these powerful Quranic proofs, the end of the world will come suddenly (6:31, 44, 47; 7:95, 187; 12:107; 21:40, 22:55; 26:202; 29:53; 39:55; 43:66; and 47:18). ** Comment: ))What a liar the man was?? And the people respect him as a messanger of Mighty God??!!))
This is a big mistake and a great distortion of Quran. Look at those verses: "They ask you about the hour, when will be its taking place? Say: The knowledge of it is only with my Lord; none but He shall manifest it at its time; it will be momentous in the heavens and the earth; it will not come on you but of a sudden. They ask you as if you were solicitous about it. Say: Its knowledge is only with Allah, but most people do not know."7/187 "Men ask thee concerning the Hour: Say, "The knowledge thereof is with Allah (alone)": and what will make you understand?- perchance the Hour is nigh!" 33/63
It is obvious from the verses that the unexpected coming of the hour reffers to all the people and not only to disbelievers, since it was answer to question that believeing people and people in general (not only disbelievers) asked prophet muhamed about the hour, and then, God gave them quranic answer -that is, that nobody knows its time and (that) it will come unexpectedly "to you" . God did not said in Quran that believers will know the time of the hour or that it will not come unexpectedly to them. Even the mesenger himself did know when it will happen. Never, never in Quran God mentioned that anybody will know the time of the hour. Look at this verse: "Are they waiting until the Hour comes to them suddenly? All the signs thereof have already come. Once the Hour comes to them, how will they benefit from their message? " 47/18 You see, all the conditions for the coming of the hour were already**fulfilled** in the time of messenger muhamed(coming of the zeal of the prophets). There was no need for coming of the "confirming messenger" after announcer/prophet Muhamad, as rk claimed "proving" it by his wrong understanding of 3/81. And he was brave enough to cite this verse(47/18) just like it is related to his (rk) time and not to Muhamad`s time. It is in accordance with his ego-centric and 19-centric theory.
And now ladies and gentleman , be prepared, rk himself will reveal to us where all this counting stuff and adding up the gematrical values of the initials came from. It came from the masters of deceptions , from the people who were masters of taking the words out of context(place)(5/13) and moreover, all this came through Hadith: Rk wrote: While Hadith is forbidden as a source of religious teachings (Appendix 19), it can be a useful source of history. We can derive a lot of information about historical events and local customs and traditions during the early centuries of Islam. The books of Hadith indicate that the Quranic Initials were believed to determine the life span of the Muslim Ummah. The classic exegesis by Al-Baydaawy cites the following historical event as a possible explanation of the Quranic Initials. The same event is detailed in Al-Suyooty's ITQAAN, First Printing, 1318 AH, Vol 2, Page 10: The Jews of Medina went to the Prophet and said, "Your Quran is initialed with A.L.M., and these Initials determine the life span of your religion. Since `A' is 1, `L' is 30, and `M' is 40, this means that your religion will survive only 71 years." Muhammad said, "We also have A.L.M.S." They said, "The `A' is 1, the `L' is 30, the `M' is 40, and the `S' is 90. This adds up to 161. Do you have anything else?" The Prophet said, "Yes, A.L.M.R." They said, "This is longer and heavier; the `A' is 1, `L' is 30, `M' is 40, and `R' is 200, making the total 271." They finally gave up, saying, "We do not know how many of these Initials he was given!" [Al-Suyuty's Famous Reference ITQAAN]
He continues: Although this narration is well known, many scholars have been reluctant to accept the unmistakable connection between the Quranic Initials and the end of the world. They could not bring themselves to deal with this subject for the simple reason that the calculation makes the end of the world, and judgment, a reality.
Comment:
Now , you know everything, we can clearly see where his ideas came from and how rk was faithfull follower of his ideological descendents. It seems , that the only place where he consistently applied quranic methodology of (self)interpretation was the rejection of hadith and sunna, and even this was reduced only to a lip service, cause he used "hadith and sunna" attributed to muhamad abundantly in forming and shaping his theory and while interpretating quran. I must investigate rk writings further, but, there is a conclusion that I keep thinking about it(that force itself on me) : In every group of the verses of quran that deals with the different topics, other than group that rejects sunna and hadith as a source of the guidance, it seems, that rk was a faithfull follower of sectarian interpretation , that is , pick up some allusions and parts of the verses from here and pick it up from there, give some alegorical meaning to it, support it with the bunch of the interesting nubers(compare it with the chains of hadith`s narators ) and come up with the theory that is in opposition with quranic verdict on the topic. In his allegorical interpretations, sometimes, he has gone even further than shia sectarian(known by their ludicrous allegorical interpretations) sometimes knew to go. He even blamed "many scholars" for rejecting the quoted hadith and being "reluctant to accept the unmistakable connection between the Quranic Initials and the end of the world." He(rk) said that(my comment is in the brackets): ** "Although this narration(the quoted hadith!!!?) is well known(!!), many scholars have been reluctant to accept the unmistakable connection between the Quranic Initials and the end of the world." **
So, here we have a rejector of the hadith who based his theory on hadith!! The rejector of the hadith who blaims the others for not accepting " well known narration (hadith)"!!?? What an irony!
More about this will GW came...there are still a lot of distortions on topic that are very important to mention and to expose...
Next time we will exposed alleged signs of the hour that according rk happened in "his time" in our era...spliting of the moon etc. and about alleged signs that are allegedly going to happen just a few years before the J-day. Zlatan.
